News has filtered though today that ex-captain Byron Bater has passed away.
Byron entertained the supporters of Tonna RFC from the late 70's to the mid 80's, he was from the Phil Bennett mold of running outside half
When he captained the 1st fifteen in 1980 they won the Div E title in the old West Wales League.
He worked in the old BP Refinery and when it closed moved with his family still with BP to England.
Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time, it was a pleasure to play with him.

Thank you for a lovely tribute, for anyone who would like to attend, the funeral will be held on Thursday 13th September at 9am at the Kent and Sussex Crematorium in Tunbridge Wells and afterwards at the Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells from 10.45-5pm. Love the Bater family x
